Thanks for stopping by my website

My name is Noa de la Vega, and I am a Max Weber Fellow & part-time Assistant Professor at the Economics Department of the European University Institute (EUI), Florence (Italy). My research focuses on topics in labor economics, applied microeconomics, health economics, and gender economics. My study on the effect of childbirth on earnings, time use and life-satisfaction outcomes, has been published at Labour Economics under the title: The Differential Effect of Childbirth on Men's and Women's Careers.

I am thrilled to share that I will present my job market paper, The Aging Parent Penalty Across Countries, at the ASSA 2025 Annual Meeting in San Francisco this January. This work extends my research agenda on caregiving and labor market outcomes, and focuses on the effects of caring for elderly parents on their adult children.

Over the years, I have received invaluable support from several academic institutions and organizations, and I would like to express my gratitude to them for their support. These include the Max Weber fellowship (2023-2025), the Council of Higher Education and the Ministry of Finance fellowship (2021-2023), the Israel Pollak fellows programme for outstanding Ph.D. students (2021-2023), the doctoral fellowship for outstanding Ph.D. students at Tel Aviv University (2019-2023), and the NCJW excellence in studies scholarships (2021).
